Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is committed to showcasing artwork from students and classrooms around the county.
The current exhibit celebrates the artwork of local teen artists and the work that Chop’s Teen Club does in our community. Chops serves Santa Rosa teens ages 12 to 17, enrolled in grades 7 through 12, with a wide variety of opportunities including working with local artists.
The Art Studio is a popular place at Chop’s. With a creative and artistic staff, the studio exposes teenagers to a wide range of art-based activities. Participants are able to experience art disciplines such as pottery and ceramics, welding, glass blowing, sewing and embroidery, painting, construction, and more through drop-in activities, workshops and classes. Chop’s is also committed to participating in community events and providing outreach to schools to promote unique and affordable activities that foster creativity in a safe, welcoming and creative atmosphere.
In their summer artist series entitled “Side by Side,” students worked with local artist “Brino” to create the dynamic images before you. Spanning the ages of 11 to 15, these young artists explored the use of spray paint, stencils, and—most importantly—the message they wished to express through their work. Teens were able to experiment with color, layering, and repetition throughout the process of creating these works.
Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is pleased to partner with Chop’s Teen Club through work on the Arts Education Alliance (AEA) advocating for the arts and for youth in our community.
