Kris Borchardt
Kris Borchardt is an emerging sculptor whose work has been shown in the San Francisco Bay Area, Palm Springs, and Portland, Oregon. Working primarily with found objects and scrap steel, she draws on life experiences as the subjects for her sculpture. Her works include irony and metaphor, references to humor and compassion, and strive to be beautiful. They often incorporate movement, implied or actual, sometimes working with the dynamics of natural phenomenon such as wind and weather. Kris learned welding and fabrication techniques at the San Francisco Art Institute and The Crucible in Oakland.
