Robert Ellison

Born in Detroit in 1946, Robert Ellison received his Masters of Fine Arts from Michigan State University. His art experience spans over three decades and includes large scale, permanently sited commissions located in Providence, Rhode Island, Santa Rosa, California, and Anchorage, Alaska. Ellison’s temporary installations include sites at the San Francisco Civic Center Plaza, Oakland City Center, City of Mountain View City Hall, and a wealth of other corporate, municipal, and private settings. His works can be found in the private collections many prominent citizens worldwide and he has had numerous national and international gallery exhibitions. Ellison is especially well known for his public performance, "Unveiling of Four Times Daily", which took place on San Francisco Bay in the late 1970s and was documented by Bravura Films. Robert Ellison currently resides at his mountain top studio in Penngrove, California.
