Stellaluna
by King Cole Theatricals
Grades K-4
Anyone who's ever been asked to be someone they're not will understand the conflicts—and possibilities—Stellaluna faces. Orphaned baby bat Stellaluna is lucky enough to land in a nest of baby birds, but her whole world has just turned upside down. Her adoptive bird mother accepts her into her nest, but only on the condition that Stellaluna behave like a bird. Based on the book by Jannell Cannon, this presentation uses imaginative puppetry, music, and storytelling to share a tiny bat's journey towards self-discovery.

Grades 1-2
The study of the environment is important for children of all ages. But how can we make a difference in our daily lives? In this project, students will work with local artist Lisa R. Fredenthal-Lee—creator and featured artist on “Don't Throw That Away” as seen on PBS television. Students will explore and create art using recycled materials, focusing on the environment, imagination, and how human responsibility can help plants and animals to thrive.
