Summary
The Director of Human Resources and Organization Development is responsible for all phases of Human Resources and Organization Development activity for Center. The Center has an operating budget of ~$10M, 70 employees half of which are full time, and ~300 volunteers. The Director works closely as a strategic partner with Board, Staff, and Volunteers. Major responsibilities include generalist, human resources administration, and organization development. The Director is accountable for the development and integration of organizational excellence programs and associated projects to achieve business goals and objectives.

Generalist Duties
Human Resources Administrator Duties
- Keep personnel and benefits files updated and complete. Ensure that files are secure, and employee privacy is protected.
- Initiate Personnel Action Notices for employees as employee changes occur.
- Work closely with Payroll/Finance to process employee paperwork including vacation/sick/personal time off, salary/title adjustments, leaves of absence, etc....
- Complete government agency reporting requests and paperwork associated with requests.
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Organizational Development Duties
- Responsible for partnering with the leadership teams to build organizational strategies that support the vision and mission of the Center.
- Responsible for building a framework for execution including culture, leadership, talent, and structure.
- Influence positive change at all levels within the organization to foster a culture that supports the agreed upon working principles by which the board, staff, and volunteers interact.
- Ensure the leadership and talent in the organization have the appropriate skills and cultural fit.
- Ensure that the formal organization supports execution of the vision and mission including accountabilities, work content and processes, roles, rewards and recognition, structure, and communication.
- Interact, influence and consult effectively and productively with all levels of the organization.
- Lead quarterly Strategic Direction and Volunteer Advisory Committee meetings.
- Ensure organizational excellence initiatives of the strategic plans are being accomplished per established timeline.
- Ensure performance management framework is being used and followed through on.
Human Resources Administrator Duties

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Human Resources preferred; five+ years related experience at the Manager or Director level (preferred). Organization development theories and techniques, change management, business acumen, financial analysis, organizational behavior understanding, organizational understanding, industry understanding, competency identification skill, training and development theories and techniques understanding. Strong consulting, relationship building, and conflict management skills. Excellent presentation, facilitation, verbal and written communication skills required. Detail oriented and able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of employees. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must have ability to maintain a calm demeanor under difficult employee circumstances.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
