Recent programs featured techniques to help students improve their writing by creating dialogue through drama, offered art as a means for exploring and understanding prejudice, and explored drama strategies for motivating students who are learning English as a second language.

Each three hour professional development session includes targeted lesson plans that meet California Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards. The Center's Professional Development program also offers classroom modeling, coursework, and a summer institute for teachers. The Center's program is presented in partnership with Healdsburg Unified School District.

2009-2010 Professional Development Programs

A teacher workshop is a great way to expand your teaching toolbox. By using the arts, such as theater, dance, visual arts, and creative writing, you can make learning active and engaging. Teachers and teaching-artists will gain practical, hands-on skills to immediately apply in the classroom. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to network with other educators and invigorate your classroom practices. In addition, we offer select classroom modeling opportunities for those attending workshops. Space is limited; make your reservations today!
