Blackbeard the Pirate
by Missoula Children’s Theatre

A FREE Weeklong Theater Residency • June 17 – 22, 2013
The acclaimed Missoula Children’s Theatre and Wells Fargo Center for the Arts welcome children entering 1st – 12th grades to audition to take part in the upcoming production of Blackbeard the Pirate. No advance preparation or experience is necessary; enthusiasm and a smile are the most important!

Auditions: Monday, June 17, 2013 • 10am to noon
(applicants must participate in the entire two hour audition) Auditions begin promptly. Those selected must be available each day, June 17 – 22, for rehearsals and performances.

This week-long theater residency is provided free-of-charge by the Education Through the Arts program.

Blackbeard the Pirate by Missoula Children’s Theatre
Saturday, June 22, 2013 • 2pm & 4:30pm
Wells Fargo Center for the Arts • East Auditorium
$13 adult • $9 child

Draw It! Paint It! Sculpt It! Art Camp

July 8 – 12, 2013 • 1pm – 5pm

For kids entering 4th – 7th grades • $150 for the week

Experience life in the studio like Picasso and other great artists! Explore creativity and express your inner artist by working with 2D and 3D media, including painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. Campers complete a number of works of art during the week, culminating with an art exhibit.
Instructor Judy Timmerman (BFA, MA) is a professional teaching artist with 20 years of experience at Sonoma and Marin County schools and overseas teaching stints in Germany and South America.
No previous art experience is necessary!

New Song Music Camp

July 22 – 26, 2013 • 9am – 3pm
For kids entering 3rd – 6th grades
• $230 for the week

Explore the world of music in new ways. This week-long camp emphasizes creativity and cooperation, while campers learn about and experiment with music. Directed by Andrew DeVeny and Erik Weidenhamer—each with over 18 years of experience in the classroom and private lessons—along with local teachers and musicians, New Song Music Camp offers a whole week of activities!
Participants will explore music through hands-on experience with a wide variety of traditional and percussion instruments. During the week, campers will make an instrument to take home, cut an original CD recording, sing, play, and receive a t-shirt as a souvenir!
No previous musical experience is necessary.
