A day in the life of the Acjachamai Tribe of native California came to life on stage October 24th as the Center kicked off its series of 25 school shows presented for students and teachers.

Storyteller Jacque Nunez, an Acjachemen descendant, enchanted the kindergarten through 6th grade students with songs and tales, sharing important aspects of her culture, such as native dwellings, cooking, basket weaving, indigenous instruments, and dancing. Through the live stage performance, the children learned about the tribe’s respect for Mother Earth and the importance of every Native American tribes’ unique heritage.
