Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is committed to showcasing student artwork from schools and classrooms around the county. We are delighted to exhibit work from students attending Alexander Valley School in Alexander Valley. Featuring projects from students in 1st through 6th grades, the exhibit explores a variety of techniques taught by art teacher, Barbara Adams. Projects align with Common Core Standards.
Alexander Valley Unified School District has a long history of providing solid arts programs for its students. Superintendent-Principal Bob Raines credits the overall school culture and high test scores to the district’s commitment to the arts, stating that, “Art and music education aren’t extras. They are an integral part of a basic education.”
Techniques used in the exhibit include the use of tissue paper, gouaché, oil pastels, acrylics and watercolors. Each piece is colorfully and beautifully created by elementary school students.
