At 78, Joan Rivers is still lightning quick. Ask her if she’s dating and you get: “Nope. The hotel is closed.”

A comic foil is always in the wings: “Snooki, that moron, decided to get angry with me. But she doesn’t spell well, so it was hard to figure out what she was trying to say.”

She just got a tattoo, but you’ll have to tune in to the second season of her reality show to find out what kind, because she’s not telling.

The next day she’s hopping on a plane at 4 a.m. for another round of the “Fashion Police” TV show and more QVC show hawking.

“You do what you have to do,” she says.

It’s exactly what we saw in last year’s documentary, “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work”: A woman obsessed with working and staying relevant.

Like her or not, there’s no denying she was a pioneer in the industry. Way back when she first appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson in the ’60s, she was one of few female comics willing to torch anything sacred for a laugh. And today, comics like Kathy Griffin point to her as a role model — the self-deprecating queen of off-color, insult comedy.
