Works by internationally-renowned artist Roberto Santo now on exhibit

Renowned sculpture artist Roberto Santo, one of only a few artists eligible for commissions for the Vatican, has joined the growing list of outstanding artists with works on exhibit at Santa Rosa’s Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. Santo, who works roughly half the year at his studio in Tuscany, Italy and half the year at his home on Sonoma Mountain, created two site specific pieces for the Arts Center; all of the work on display is from his “Springload” series.” In this series, Santo distinguishes himself as a painter of balanced, abstract compositions with an attractive, almost touchable skin.

“Each piece has a geometric and architectural feel,” says Tracy Sawyer, the Center’s manager of arts and outreach programs. “If one looks closely, one can see his math equations.”

The eight pieces in the exhibit are on loan for a period of one-to-two years and may be viewed in the Center’s stairwells and Fireside room during regular business hours, as well as during all performances and events.
